Asda has announced that all of its ‘ladies’ bags’ in its own-brand fashion range, George at Asda, are now 100% vegan.
Offering an affordable range of styles to choose from with prices starting from just £10, the range consists of a variety of bags in various different style and colours.
Shoppers will find a range of styles on offer including a pale pink ring detail bag, a burgundy mini mock croc crossbody bag and a mock croc black bag.
Conscious consumers can shop the range safe in the knowledge that no animal-derived materials have been used in the collection, and no animal testing has been undertaken as the full range has been registered with The Vegan Society.
This means that all of the products can be traced back through the supply chain, not just to the factory they were made in, but also to all of the suppliers who make the dyes and the glues used on the bags.
According to Helena Boal, Buying Manager for Accessories at George, the decision to make its collection of ladies bags 100% vegan was due to increased demand from customers for affordable and stylish vegan fashion.
In a statement, she said: “As a team we’re delighted to be in a position to offer our customers a range of stylish Vegan bags, whilst still being able to offer the same great value as the rest of our products.
“We understand there is an increased demand for Vegan options in the fashion marketplace and it’s great we can provide such a stylish selection for our shopper to choose from.”
Chantelle Adkins, Director of Business Development at The Vegan Society, says: “These fantastic bags have been registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark. It’s great to see George investing in this area which will appeal to a lot of consumers.
“We’re proud to have teamed up with George on this range and can assure customers that all these products are free from animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals.”
The vegan bags are now available at selected George at Asda stores across the UK as well as online at www.george.com.
