Vegan haircare brand Shrub launches at Boots

Shrub vegan haircare is inspired by the British countryside and made in the UK with local ingredients. Shrub stands for honesty, uses naturally and ethically sourced ingredients from British farms and never uses liquid plastics.

The natural ingredients used in Shrub products include oil from Rapeseed, Tung, and Lunaria, only carefully chosen, high performance, plant-derived polymers, cellulose and protein, naturally biodegradable thickeners and film-formers.

Available in Boots stores now, the products within the Shrub range are the Instant Detangling Spray (£9.99), Sea Salt Texturing Spray (£9.99), Curl Defining Cream (£9.99), Prepare & Protect Primer (£9.99), Texturising Clay Putty (£9.99) and The Wonder Oil (£14.99).

Shrub is also the first haircare brand to use oil from the Lunaria plant, more commonly known as the Honesty plant. Lunaria is an indigenous plant grown along the East coast of England, the oil is converted within 200 miles of North Star Lipids farm, meaning the carbon footprint production is very low. This key ingredient creates a healthy environment for hair to grow, as well as improving the shine of the hair. Other key ingredients, sourced from Blue Sky Botanics in Herefordshire, include nettle, elderflower, and white willow.
