Eco-Friendly Shampoo Bars

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Spring & Vine. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’ve been wanting to step up my eco game even more by switching to a more sustainable shampoo.

About a month ago, I reached out on instagram asking about your favorite eco-friendly (and of course CLEAN) options. Rather than buying a new plastic bottle of shampoo, I wanted to try something different! Well you guys gave me so many ideas that it was a little overwhelming and I didn’t know where to start, haha.

About a week later, Spring & Vine randomly reached out to me, asking if I wanted to try their NEW shampoo bars?! I felt like this was my chance. Why not?! The stars had aligned! And better yet, they’re available at Target where I shop more than I should (meaning this is one less thing I have to order online – but you can order them from Target online if you want!).

So at first I was skeptical about shampoo bars because I use a lot of dry shampoo powder and my locks can get a little grimy, you know?! Not to mention my hair is LONG and it takes a lot to get it clean. I started lathering the shampoo bar over my wet hair because I didn’t know how else to do it (LOL) and it got super bubbly and felt like normal shampoo. I started with the soothing Tea Tree & Mint and did a second wash with the volumizing Grapefruit & Rosemary. WOW. To say I was impressed is an understatement because I fully did not expect this situation to work out. Not only that, but the experience was light and airy and felt less “heavy” than shampoo, if that makes sense. I used my normal conditioner because one step at a time, haha but their oatmeal bar is a 2-in-1 so I will try that next.

So the true test was, how would my hair feel post-shower? Would I be able to brush through it? Well yes, and not only that but it felt voluminous and clean in a good way. Not weighed down at all. I’m just really impressed, if you can’t already tell.

The Good Facts:

  • Spring & Vine uses 95% less plastic and 90% less water than traditional shampoos
  • They’re PETA-Certified, Vegan and Cruelty-Free
  • Plant-powered with shea butter and essential oils
  • No synthetic fragrances, sulfates, parabens, silicones, phthalates or mineral oils
  • Come in 4 varieties for all types of hair (Lavender & Orange Blossom, Tea Tree & Mint, Oatmeal and Grapefruit & Rosemary
  • Super affordable!
  • Each bar lasts as long as a regular 12.6oz bottle of shampoo, due to their concentrated formula

I’m SO excited about this switch and it just goes to show, when you ask for something, the universe delivers. You can shop Spring & Vine at Target, in-store and online! It’s about time we go even further at reducing our carbon footprint and use less plastic.
