Dandy Blend Dalgona Coffee (Caffeine-Free & Vegan)

Whipped coffee is the shiz.

Who knew that you could make the famous dalgona coffee (aka tik tok whipped coffee) with dandy blend? It’s bold and beautiful, and perfectly delicious. And only three ingredients!

Now the texture is not as perfectly whipped as some of the pictures I’ve seen floating around instagram but that’s what we can expect with a caffeine-free and lower sugar alternative. I’m cool with it because I drank it in 2.5 seconds. YUM.

What is dandy blend, you ask?

It’s a dandelion root powder that tastes like rich coffee but without the jittery caffeine, acidity or bitterness. I always recommend people to limit or completely eliminate caffeine when trying to balance their hormones (because its important to keep our blood sugar balanced first and foremost), so dandy blend is the PERFECT alternative for happy hormones! Not to mention dandelion is amazing for liver detoxification.

Can you use stevia?!

I wanted to use stevia, I really did, but I read that it just doesn’t work. You need the sugar. So I opted for coconut sugar! I only used 1.5 tablespoons and it worked. It’s definitely much sweeter than I’m used to, so I consider this a treat but c’mon, we gotta live a little. Especially during this quarantine situation, you know?! I’m sure you could also try it with maple syrup?

Practice Patience

Anyways, this was super fun to make but you must practice patience. Like 10-15 minutes of patience, while using the hand blender. I gave it 15 minutes and no more haha. Maybe real coffee works faster? Not sure.

All you do is add the dandy blend and coconut sugar to a mixing bowl. Pour in the hot water and start using the hand mixer! Give it time. It will eventually get thicker and frothier.

Fill a glass with ice and a plant based milk of your choice. I chose soy milk because that’s what I’m into lately. Then pour the whipped coffee on top, grab a straw and enjoy!

Whipped caffeine-free and vegan latte. Delicious and bold. It’s magic in a cup!



3 tablespoons dandy blend

1 1/2 tablespoons coconut sugar

3 tablespoons hot water


Plant based milk of choice (I used soy milk)


In a mixing bowl, combine the dandy blend, coconut sugar and hot water. Using a hand electric mixer, mix for about 10-15 minutes (yes it takes that long ha). It will slowly thicken and turn into a lighter brown color. Have patience!

Add ice to your glass and fill it with your choice of plant-based milk, leaving 2-3 inches at the top. Then spoon the dandy blend foam on top of the milk.

Stir with a straw to combine and enjoy!
